i love my seester-poster for my dads company :)

YAY!

I have made four vases and I am more than caught up! I am beginning to worry about painting on the vases, I am not sure how it will go, but I'm hoping for the best. I'm also excited for our christmas party and critique; the year is flying by. I am not excited at all for when Amy leaves, I have no idea what I will do when she's gone because I ask way too many questions.  I took pictures of two of my vases, my favorite is the larger one. I am getting tons faster and better at making coils; I'm not sure if I would like all of my vases to be built out of coils because I LOVE the idea of throwing, but I would need to practice a ton to do that.

im ahead :)))

Taking my project's home ended up not being the best idea. One vase almost snapped on my way home from school and the other fell on my way back. Now I have three vases done and another that I hope to have done by Friday! I've been stressing tons for no reason, but now I am feeling a lot better. I need to remember to take pictures of my work for my blog though because I hate just taking random pictures off of google. I've spent a lot of time at the pub. lib. and found another book on hand building, especially coiling and it has helped a lot. My coils have gotten better and I have become much more efficient with them, its cool to see my progress.

projects. projects. projects

I have one vase done..pretty much. Another I would LOVE to smash into bits and pieces and another that i am in the midst of building and looks like a huge bowl at the moment. I'm excited/ nervous to take my projects home over the weekend for the first, but i dont think i will break anything. Hopefully I will get all my projects done soon, everything is working out :)) ...i really love the form of this vase, its similar to my second, but much much much much much better, I think i will destroy what i made and shoot for this shape!

Coils....

I have one coil vase almost half way done and another I just started the other day. The clay has to stiffen before I can keep building so I started two at the same time and hopefully next week I will start my third vase. I have one coil vase done from last year that I plan to put in my Portfolio so my other three projects that are due (for me) by December 15ish will be two more coil vases and a breath piece.

greek vases

I've decided on my concentration..greek vases! the Greeks are notorious for their vases and there is a lot to know about them. In each vase I want show the history of the culture, but with a twist of modern time that also relates to myself. In greek vases there are events and scenes shown so i hope to do something about the same but my own events. I have a ton to do and im not that excited, but I love how everything is coming together.

concentrations!!!!

I'm feeling really good about my concentration ideas, but im still not too sure. I think im going to go with vases portraying cultures. I want to be able to throw and hand build. I also want to take some classes so i can make dresses and jewelry because im really interested in it but i dont have enough experience to make it a concentration. I do not want to do four projects in two months though, thats nuts i dont know what im going to to do!

pumpkins!

carving pumpkins after school today was super fun! I didn't win any prizes, but a lot of the pumpkins were some of the best ive ever seen.

My family project and found object project are pretty much done. It really sucks we don't have the opportunity to come in at any time after school anymore; i never realized how much it helped until now so i'll just have to go in during my late arrivals.

Family

For my family project I am putting six different sized blocks or cubes together. Six represents my family of six people and they are put in an order that I think really fits each person. So far I've made three of them and I cant wait to see how it turns out, I'm really excited!

I also added a picture of my pill bottle cap dress :)

????

Lately since i've been finishing my young arts applications and everything i've been thinking a lot more about doing art in my future. I would like to always keep it with me and possibly minor in it. I threw yesterday for the first time and really enjoyed it. I want to keep practicing and learn to throw more and better things. My favorite project so far has been my coil vase i built last year and would also like to make more coil objects.

idk why the free shipping thing is there...

i'm so HAPPY

I have finally decided on exactly what I will be doing for my shocking art piece and I can't wait. I am really happy with this idea and feel that I will be really proud of it and it fulfills my perspective of shocking art. I want to represent  SexTrafficking. I haven't settled on if I will use a blow up doll or mannequin; hopefully I can find a mannequin and dress it in an inappropriate outfit.

I can't wait to see how it turns out!

shocking art

At first my idea was to make a shocking art piece that covered suicide. I wanted to get a head and represent a person shooting themselves and the selfishness of it. I could not find a head, so I have changed my idea to the "modern mom." I hope to find a full woman mannequin, dress her in an expensive looking cocktail dress holding a baby in one hand and a bottle of vodka in the other. I'm really behind on the project so I hope to get it done on time as well. I also finished my piece from the retreat and I'm liking it more and more!

Muncha art retreat

The retreat was nothing what i expected; except making some art. Sarah, the guest artist was really cool and brought some really pretty pieces. I loved the way she threw without a bottom and made the slab later; and the fact that her things were not super structural and have room for error. I was bummed I missed making the nature sculpture on the last day, but I am really glad I made it to the first day. This year seems like it will be super fun and everyone gets along. I'm nervous for my projects and how they will turn out, but I can't wait to make things that our out of my comfort zone and finding what I am good at. I plan on spending a lot of my high school life in the studio making art and testing my creativity skills. I hope by the end of the year showcase that I have made a lot of piece I am proud of and love.

P.S. Ten fingers at the retreat was the best and so funny!
