palm springs.

I'm leaving two vases while i leave for palm springs till monday night. I really hope they do not dry up so i can finish them when i get back. With those two pieces, all i have to do is finish some glazing and my portfolio will be done! I have to use some shitty pieces I don't like, but whatever, I guess it will show my progress or something. Wish my luck -_-

extra cred

Today I made some jewelry with Lexie! I made two pairs of earings, a pendent for a necklace and a ring. I really hope at least three of the things count for my breadth. With the jewelry my breadth section is done! I am finishing carving my green vase today and finished a coil vase yesterday. Now if I can make two amphoras by the end of break I will almost have my concentration done! I hope to make two and another one or two in the beginning of April.

spring break=amphoras!

I've decided that over spring break I'm going to try and build two to three amphoras.I have started another coil vase, with the coils out, and i hope it turns out great. I'm also going to make three pieces of jewelery to finish my breadth section. I painted a vase green which so far I'm not too sure how I like it. My blue vase turned out really cool, however I wish that the blue was darker. My short, circle vase turned out amazing with the glaze; I'm super happy about that. I hope that my portfolio comes together in April and my concentration all ties together!

AHHHH

I am a mess as of today. I think I've ruined one vase and I don't like the other. I am terrified for portfolios and I need to make more vases.

coil vases..what a surprise..

Yet again, I have nothing really to write in my blog. I'm making more coil vases, what a shock. However, Whitney showed me Dave and Bonnie Deal pottery and I've found some shapes i really like. The two vases I'm making right now are turning out amazing; well I think so. I'm also super worried about this whole portfolio thing, I know I won't have 12 pieces ready for it when it's due so shit...

pit fire!

I am really sorry to everyone who put something in the pit fire and it was a fail. Hopefully the next will work and everything will turn out great. I'm in the process of two projects right now, both coil vases of course. I really like what I'm making, but like I say in ever post, I want to make something different and more challenging. I'm running out of things to write about in my blog, so hopefully something juicy happens :)

start to second semester

I'm really happy with how things are going right now. I received the news that I got a gold key! i was super super super excited and surprised, i don't really like the project that i got the key on, but it has boosted my confidence in my art tons. I've started two coil vases at once and i hope to make three or four this month and have a lot more than 12 to pick from for my portfolio. I've also started throwing this week and i've totally missed it. Jack has helped me, and pretty much done the throwing for me, but has taught me a ton. I threw something on my own today and i'm going to give it to my mom :)

i super miss amy still...can we go visit soon????
